Tunisia excursion FAQ: prices, pickups and how it works

From €45 to €200 per vehicle, not per person. Friguia Park as a half day starts at €45 for 1 to 4 travellers, the Grand Tunis excursion at €80, El Jem and Kairouan at €90, Dougga and Bulla Regia at €120. The exact rate depends on your pickup city and group size, and it is shown on each excursion page before you book.

Because what we coordinate is a day of private vehicle with its driver, and that cost does not change whether you are two or five. You hire the car and the driver's day, then split the bill between you. With four people, a Grand Tunis excursion at €80 comes to €20 each, considerably less than a per-person rate sold at a hotel desk.

The private air-conditioned vehicle, fuel, tolls, parking and the driver for the whole day. Not included: site entry tickets, around 12 dinars per archaeological site, and lunch, which you choose freely. We deliberately leave them out so you are never tied to one restaurant.

You pay the driver on the day, at the end of the excursion, in euros or Tunisian dinars. No deposit, no card pre-authorisation, no online payment. The amount is the one on the written confirmation you received when booking, and it does not change.

48 to 72 hours is enough outside the high season. From June to September, allow a week: the 08:00 slots out of Hammamet go quickly. We can sometimes take a next-day request, but without a guarantee on vehicle size.

Within two hours you receive, by email and WhatsApp, the detailed programme, the exact pickup time, the final per-vehicle price and the driver's name. Until you have that written confirmation nothing is booked and you owe nothing.

Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before departure, with no explanation required. Since there is no deposit, there is nothing to refund. If the weather turns genuinely bad, we will suggest moving to another date in your stay ourselves.

No. A private excursion runs for one person just as it does for six. Because the price is the vehicle's, a solo traveller pays the same as a group of four, the one case where a per-person tour may work out cheaper.

We collect you from your hotel, your Airbnb, your residence or any address you give us in Hammamet, Sousse, Monastir or Tunis. You choose the departure time, 08:00 or 09:00, and you are dropped back at the same point by 18:00 at the latest, or earlier if you prefer. Departing from Sousse or Monastir adds €10, from Tunis €20.

Yes. All our drivers speak French and English, and several also speak Italian or German. Tell us your preferred language when you book and we assign the driver accordingly, at no extra cost.

Never. Every excursion runs in a private vehicle reserved for your group. There is no hotel-by-hotel pickup round and no waiting to board: you leave at the agreed time and return when your day is done.

Largely, yes. Staying an extra hour in Sidi Bou Said, skipping a stop that doesn't interest you, eating somewhere else, just tell the driver. The only limits are site closing times and driving distances, which your driver knows better than anyone.

The Grand Tunis excursion is the best starting point: Sidi Bou Said, Carthage and the Tunis medina, two UNESCO sites in one day. If you are here mainly for archaeology, El Jem and Kairouan give you the 35,000-seat Roman amphitheatre and the fourth holy city of Islam.

Yes. Friguia Park is built for families, with a semi-open safari and only a half day, back around 13:00. On full days we adapt the pace and plan breaks. Child seats are provided on request at no extra cost.

March to May and September to November. Temperatures stay between 18 and 28 °C, sites are quiet and the light is ideal for photos. Summer works perfectly well with an 08:00 departure and an air-conditioned vehicle, especially towards the coast and Cap Bon.

Two full days and one half day is the most comfortable rhythm over a week: Grand Tunis, then El Jem and Kairouan, then Friguia Park towards the end. Beyond that the drives start to feel similar and tiredness wins, especially with children.
